The Mitsubishi Mr. Slim Ductless Air Conditioner Residential carries a line of Super Efficient Inverter Ductless Air Conditioner and Heat Pump Systems up to 24,000 BTU's (2 Tons). It may be just the perfect solution for that hard to cool area of your home or office. The Mitsubishi Mr. Slim Ductless Split System has an easy-to-install indoor section that connects to the outdoor unit via a small 3" hole in the wall.

The Mr. Slim Ductless Air Conditioner multi-zone systems are available from Mitsubishi Electric to take care of more than one zone from a single system. The MXZ30TN model can supply up to 30,000 BTU/h (or 2-1/2 tons) of cooling and 38,000 Btu/h of heating to three zones. A typical application example may be a three-bedroom ranch style home where two MXZ30TN systems can take care of the entire floor. One system can satisfy the three bedrooms in the back portion of the house while the other system takes care of the kitchen, family room and living room.

The MXZ model employs a single compressor that is sized to handle up to three indoor units. Using a multi system instead of three separate systems can be more efficient and allows you to save outdoor space because only one outdoor unit is needed rather than three.

A 2:1 multi system is also available for where a cooling-only model is needed for two zones. This system employs two compressors, one for each indoor unit. You still save space outdoor because you have one outdoor unit rather than two.

The Mitsubishi Mr. Slim Ductless Air Conditioner Commercial carries a line of Super Efficient Inverter Ductless Systems up to 42,000 BTU's (3 1/2 Tons).

York "Packaged" Heating and Cooling Systems

In a packaged system, all equipment is built into an outdoor unit, usually on a concrete slab or other platform. The "package" that gives it its name provides central air conditioning during the summer and heat in colder months.

Models available use:

Electricity for resistance heating and cooling
Gas for heating and electricity for cooling
Heat pump models using electricity

The efficiency of packaged systems are rated using SEER (for cooling efficiency), AFUE% (for gas heating efficiency) and HSPF (for heat pump efficiency). Ductwork is required to transfer the heated or cooled air throughout the home.
